Everything parents ask about AlarmBee

AlarmBee is a panic button for a child's phone. When the child presses it, every parent phone goes off at once with a siren and vibration, and within seconds you receive GPS location, photos from both cameras, battery level and network type. The same evidence is also emailed to you.

Not necessarily. AlarmBee is a Progressive Web App (PWA): it opens in the browser and can be added to the home screen with one tap, and it works fully as an ordinary browser tab. We are also preparing an Android app for Google Play. The app does not replace the PWA: it matters mainly on supervised child accounts, where Google Family Link blocks the PWA install prompt, and on the parent device, where it lets the siren sound even when the app is closed.

The alarm fires first and instantly: siren, vibration and a flashing red screen on every parent phone. Immediately afterwards, in the background, it sends GPS coordinates with a map link, one photo from the rear camera and one from the front, battery percentage and charging state, network type and public IP. Everything appears on the parent's screen and simultaneously arrives by email with the photos attached.

It depends on what the parent uses. With the Android parent app the siren starts even when the app is closed. With the PWA, on Android or iPhone, a push notification wakes the device, but a continuous loud siren requires the app to be open: no PWA can play continuous audio while fully closed. On iPhone the iOS app has not shipped yet. In every case we always send an email as well, because that is the one path that works everywhere.

No, and the distinction matters. AlarmBee does not follow your child continuously and does not record their movements. It transmits location only at the moment the child presses the button. It is an emergency tool, not a surveillance tool.

As many as you like — and as many parents as you like. All children use the same 6-character family code. No lists, no profile management. The app is deliberately simple.

No. Photos are never written to disk or to a database. They stay briefly in server memory until the email is delivered and the parent has seen them, then they are deleted automatically. The history keeps only time, location, battery and network.

No profile, no name, no child account. The child never registers anywhere — they join with the family's 6-character code. The alarm history stores time, coordinates, battery, network type and public IP. Nothing else.

Yes. The data controller is GM395 IKE, registered in Athens, Greece. Data is hosted on servers within the European Union, is never sold to third parties and is never used for advertising. There are no tracking cookies — only the parent session cookie.

The child button works on iPhone. Safari, however, exposes neither battery percentage nor network type, so those fields are missing from the alarm. For the parent device we recommend Android, where sound and notifications are considerably more reliable.

The Wi-Fi network name (SSID) is not accessible from any browser API, on any operating system. That is a browser security restriction, not a limitation of ours. Instead we report the public IP, which gives a rough geographic indication.

Family Link prevents a supervised child from granting website permissions. Fix: Family Link → child → Controls → Google Chrome and Web → Advanced settings → enable "Permissions for sites, apps, and extensions". Then on the child's phone: open AlarmBee → ACTIVATE → choose "Allow" for every prompt.

This is a different setting — Android app permissions, not website permissions. The location permission is locked to "Only parents". Fix: Family Link → child → Controls → Signed-in devices → the device → App permissions → Location → "Your child and parents".

The free trial lasts 10 days and is complete — every feature, no restrictions. If you have not activated a subscription by the end of it, the child's button stops sending alarms and says so clearly. We never charge automatically and we do not ask for a card for the trial.

Yes. AlarmBee does not depend on a Greek network or phone number — it works anywhere with an internet connection. The interface is available in Greek and English, and payments are in euros via creem.io.
