The AlarmBee logo

One tap. Every parent knows instantly.

AlarmBee is a panic button on your child's phone. When they press it, every parent phone screams at once — and along with it come the GPS location, photos from both cameras, the battery level and the network.

From the browser in ten seconds, or as an Android app. 10-day free trial, no card. €5 a year for the whole family.

The Android app is coming in mid-August

The Android app is launching on Google Play this August. Leave your details and we'll let you know the moment it's available.

Why "AlarmBee"

Like a hive

In a beehive, when one bee senses danger, it instantly alerts the whole colony — and together they rush to protect the Queen, the hive's most vital member. AlarmBee works on the same idea: when someone presses the button, everyone who matters to them is alerted at once, and rushes to help. The name isn't an accident — it's our purpose in two words.

How it works

Three steps, once

After the first setup, your child never has to do anything again.

1

Sign up, get a code

With your email. No password. Your family gets a unique 6-character code.

2

Invite your children

Send them an invitation email. They tap the link or type the code, allow location and camera, and that's it.

3

The red button is there

One screen, one button. If they press it, every parent phone goes off immediately and the evidence follows.

FAQ

What parents ask

Do I need to install it from an app store?
No. AlarmBee is a Progressive Web App: it opens in the browser and gets added to the home screen with one tap. It also works fully as a plain browser tab — installing only adds the icon and makes the sound more reliable.
What exactly does it send when the button is pressed?
The alarm fires instantly first: siren, vibration and a flashing red screen on every parent phone. Immediately after, in the background, it sends:
  • GPS location with accuracy and a map link,
  • one photo from the back camera and one from the front,
  • battery percentage and whether it is charging,
  • network type and public IP.
Everything appears on the parent screen and arrives by email at the same time, photos attached.
Does it work when the parent app is closed?
The parent receives a push notification that wakes the device, and the email arrives regardless. The continuous loud siren, however, requires the app to be opened — no PWA can play continuous audio while fully closed. That is why we recommend keeping the app open at night, and why we always send an email too.
My child is on Family Link and it does not take photos
Cause: Family Link blocks the child from granting website permissions.

Fix:

  1. Family Link → child → Controls → Google Chrome and Web → Advanced settings → enable Permissions for sites, apps, and extensions.
  2. On the child's phone: open AlarmBee → ACTIVATE → allow every prompt.
Permissions already granted stay in effect even if you turn the setting back off.
Family Link: the camera works, but no location arrives
Cause: a completely different setting — Android app permissions, not website permissions. Location is locked to "Only parents", so the child cannot grant it to Chrome.

Fix:

  1. Family Link → child → Controls → Signed-in devices → the device → App permissions → Location → choose Your child and parents.
  2. Or, more surgically: Screen time → App limits → Chrome → App details → Permissions → Location → ON.
Check: the "Location" badge on the activation screen must read OK.
Family Link: the "Install app" button never shows up
Unsolved at the Chrome level. Google does not document Family Link blocking it, but we ruled out cache, an already-installed app and approved sites — and it persists.

Workarounds:

  • Another browser: install from Firefox or Edge on the child's phone. Family Link's Chrome settings do not apply to other browsers.
Note: Firefox has no Battery API, so battery percentage will not arrive from that device.
  • Or skip the install: AlarmBee works fully in a plain tab — alarm, location, photos, email. You only lose the home screen icon, which a bookmark or launcher shortcut covers.
Family Link: I use "Only allow approved sites"
Then you must explicitly add app.alarmbee.gr to the Approved sites list, otherwise the child cannot even open the page.
How many children can I connect?
As many as you want — and as many parents as you want. Every child uses the same 6-character family code. No lists, no profile management. The app is deliberately simple.
Are the photos stored?
No. Photos are never written to disk or to a database. They stay briefly in server memory until the email is sent and the parent has seen them, then they are deleted automatically. The history keeps only time, location, battery and network.
Does it work on iPhone?
The child button works on iPhone. Safari, however, exposes neither battery percentage nor network type, so those are missing from the email. For the parent device we recommend Android, where sound and notifications are far more reliable.
What happens after the free trial?
If you do not activate a subscription, the child button stops sending alarms and says so clearly. We do not charge automatically. You can activate the subscription at any time from the parent dashboard.
Who issues the invoice?
Payments run through creem.io, acting as Merchant of Record: they handle VAT, invoicing and tax compliance. The receipt arrives from them to your email.

Two minutes to set up.

A whole year of peace of mind.
